Dr. Chen's research interests include applications of AI techniques, expert systems, neural networks, and fuzzy logic in the areas of petroleum, mining, hydrology and economics. Research projects have been supported by several oil companies and the Department of Energy. Research proposals in these areas are currently under review by DOE, GRI and NSI.
