Keynote Speaker: Dr. Monica Anderson

Dr. Monica Anderson

Dr. Monica Anderson is a faculty member in the Computer Science Department at the University of Alabama and is Director of the robotics laboratory at UA (the Distributed Autonomy Lab).

Computer science is more than just programming. Technology in the hands of the socially conscious can address the unique needs of our communities. Dr. Anderson's research enables her to identify and solve the problems that she is passionate about. She ultimately challenges students to become the creators of technology, not just the users as a mechanism for social change and transformation.

Tour of Science and Engineering Complex

During the check-in period, tours will be conducted of the UA Engineering Facilities and the Computer Science laboratories. In Januart 2012, the University opened its third new Engineering and Science building. In Summer 2013, the fourth and final building will be completed. A virtual tour of the two new existing buildings are available for Shelby Hall and the Science and Engineering Complex.
