The University of Alabama Department of Computer Science will host a series of Computer Science camps from June 6-24, 2011.
Students will be taught multiple topics of Computer Science while learning to program a computer in several exciting contexts (robotics control and smartphone apps). The Computer Science camps are taught in a manner that encourages self-exploration across multiple projects.
The initial flyer describing the camps is available here. Please use the navigation bar above for additional information.
Students desiring to participate in the camps must first apply before April 22nd. Students will be notified by May 2nd regarding whether they are invited to attend, based on availability (we are expecting far more requests than we have seats). An invitation to the camps will include information about payment of tuition. If any camp receives registrations that are double the camp capacity, then the registration may be shut down before the April 22nd deadline (please register as soon as possible).
On April 2, 2011, the Department of Computer Science is also hosting a robotics competition for all Alabama schools across all grade levels. More information about the 2011 Robotics Competition is available here.
